For the launch of Peugeot 107.
Result: 35,000 subscribers in 24 hours. 7,000 downloaded skinz in 1 hour!
Mxit is the mobile chat application and is probably the fastest growing medium in SA, with between 9,000 - 12,000 people a day. It has over 3 million users.
When we launched Peugeot's 107 the campaign extended onto Mxit. We used their splash screens to get people to add 107 as a contact. Once added, we provided a feed of what was happening on the website.
As the campaign progressed we added secret elements to the website, such as secret games, competitions and add-ons, that we only mentioned on blogs and Mxit.
On the mobile site people could vote for and search for their favourite designs. Once the finalists were announced we handed each of them a whole bunch of T-shirts with semacodes on that they could hand to their friends. Taking a pic of the semacode with your phone would take you to a page where you could vote for that person's design.
This was a complex campaign that was very involved, but here are some of the mxit stats:
